PHDCCI’s Global Film Tourism Conclave is Back in Mumbai

Sixth edition to feature launch of report on film tourism in India

Turning locations into vacations will be the theme of PHDCCI’s sixth edition of Global Film Tourism Conclave being organized in Mumbai on 1 March in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism; Ministry of Information and Broadcasting; tourism boards of Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh; India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC); film makers, tour operators and line producers from across the country.

Being held at Hotel Novotel at Juhu Beach, GFTC provides a networking platform for film commissions, tourism boards and production houses to promote their locations, incentives and services to film makers from India and abroad. The Conclave aims to encourage film shootings in India and propel tourist traffic through film locations.

A major issue that film makers face in India is non-availability of a single window clearance facility towards all filming permissions. In the previous editions of GFTC, we were able to highlight this issue and a few Indian states have started a single window clearance system. However, all state governments must consider setting up of online portals for single window clearance facility.
