The Tourism Education Expo was successfully organized on 16th February at the prestigious IHM Pusa Campus, New Delhi, with enthusiastic participation and excellent coordination.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome address delivered by the Joint Director General, the Regional Director (North), and the Principal of IHM Pusa. Their inspiring words set a positive tone for the event, emphasizing the growing importance of tourism and hospitality education in India.
A highly informative Career Talk session was conducted by Dr. Sheileja Sharma, Senior Assistant Professor from the Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management (IITTM), along with Mr. Ashish Sharma, Faculty Member at the Institute of Hotel Management, Pusa. Their insightful presentations highlighted diverse career opportunities, industry trends, skill development, and future prospects in the tourism and hospitality sector.
The Expo witnessed the participation of more than 100 attendees, including students, faculty members, and parents, reflecting strong interest in tourism education and career pathways.
Following the welcome session, an award distribution ceremony was held to felicitate the winners for their outstanding achievements. Post lunch, engaging drawing and quiz competitions were organized by IHM Pusa, where enthusiastic participants showcased their creativity and knowledge. Prizes were awarded to the winners in recognition of their performance.
A guided campus tour was also arranged, offering participants an opportunity to explore the institute’s state-of-the-art facilities and academic environment.
The event concluded successfully with a formal Vote of Thanks delivered by the Chair Principal, who remained present throughout the programme, encouraging and supporting the participants.
I had the privilege to attend the Tourism Education Expo as an International Tourism Ambassador, Press Journalist, Media Partner, and Media Delegate from India, witnessing a well-coordinated and impactful initiative aimed at strengthening tourism education and career awareness.
